2016 SMALLBORE AND HIGHPOWER RIFLE MATCH SCHEDULE
SAN LUIS SMALLBORE ASSOCIATION, INC.
PO BOX 1465, San Luis Obispo, CA 93406-1465
2016 RIFLE MATCH DATES
RIFLE SILHOUETTE MATCHES have been held on the first Sunday of each month. MATCH DATES FOR 2016 JAN 3, FEB 7, MAR 6, APR 3, MAY 1,
JUN 5, JUL 3, AUG 7, SEP 4, OCT 2, NOV 6, DEC 4. The range will be open on match Sundays at about 7:30 am for practice and
sign-ups. Smallbore rifle is shot first, beginning at 8:30 am. The Highpower match may follow after a lunch/sight-in break, but
never before 10:30 am. Participation in silhouette shooting has decreased over the years but a smallbore match will be held
weather permitting. We do not shoot in the rain. High power has seen few shooters but for 2016 we will make a real effort to
have a full 40 shot standard High Power Match.
WE HAVE RECENTLY STARTED UP A MILITARY RIFLE BENCH REST HIGHPOWER MATCH organized by Frank Simon. We hope to continue this informal
and fun 40 shot match that can run concurrently with the standard High Power matches. Any military rifle (USA or foreign), any safe
action type with iron sights will be eligible. Free entry at this time.
Silhouette entry fees are being reduced!! Now $5.00 for Smallbore and $10.00 for HighPower. We allow half price entry for spouses
and juniors from the same household.
The competition is opened to all.
The course of fire will consist of ten shots at each of the four animals at the standard rifle silhouette distances for a total
of 40 shots per match.† Shooters will set animals and then score for the next relay shooter.
All current NRA Silhouette rules will apply.
Advance entries are not required. Please use the names and phone numbers below for further information, range conditions, directions,
camping information, etc. Matches may be canceled for rainy conditions, call if driving any distance.
NRA Classification will be used.† All shooters should have a 2016 classification book. These will be available from the Statistical
Officer at the match at the cost set by the NRA.
Awards will be given to the Match winner and for the first place in each class with at least three shooters. An additional award
will be given for each three shooters in a class after the first three. Any class with less than 3 shooters may be combined with
another for awards purposes.
Our special SMALLGAME SILHOUETTE beginnerís matches with larger targets and the same entry fee (but no classification requirements)
will continue to run with the standard Smallbore silhouette 40 shot matches. We want to encourage new shooters and juniors so please
ask for assistance. LOANER RIFLES ARE AVAILABLE. Ask at the match.
Club officers would like to hear any suggestions to increase match participation.

DUES REMAIN $30.00/YEAR FOR AN INDIVIDUAL OR A FAMILY
The annual 2016 membership business meeting will be combined with a Club Dinner Party/Potluck get together on Sunday,
January 24th, 2016.
Our club continues to have a perfect range safety record. We want to thank everyone, members and competitors alike,
for the careful use of the ranges. Your cheerful cooperation with the new rules and liability waiver forms is also
appreciated. All are reminded that there MUST be a card (RO card) carrying CCFEF Rangemaster present for the outdoor
range to be in use. There MUST be a club officer present for the indoor range to be in use. Gaining access to the
ranges does not automatically allow use. Please be aware of the range rules. No one wants an unpleasant citation/arrest
situation to occur.
GENERAL NEWS UPDATE AND INFORMATION
Dues remain $30.00/year for individual or family memberships.
During the non-daylight savings time season the outdoor range is frequently used by several members on most WEDNESDAY mornings. Call Frank or Spencer (contact information is on the rifle match schedule page) if you are interested in joining us. Membership is required.
During daylight savings time the range is in use on WEDNESDAYS in the late afternoon and evening. There is usually a range officer present by 4:00PM. Again, membership is required for this activity. Shooting is followed by a social hour and potluck BBQ dinner. All are invited to join in. An Oak BBQ is always available and usually more dessert than needed. A simple (or fancy) side dish is always appreciated.
Please complete and include the application with your dues payment as it allows us to keep track of current membership.
We need Email addresses to contact members about any schedule changes or other news. Thank you.
