The weather was nice with only light/moderate wind. We have been getting some much needed rainfall on the Central Coast this month. I'm looking forward to a green spring next year. We had a good turnout with 14 competitors (7 PCP and 7 Piston). Many of the competitors came from out of the area to shoot: Jeff Carmello, Fred Biergiel, Jim Poh, John Knapp, Ronnie Easton, Adam Pittman, and Terry Eannetta.

I missed putting out the #8 lane marker when the course was set this morning, so we shot a 44 shot match as opposed to our normal 48 shot match. We did not use any of the back lanes so we did not have many far, windy shots but the course setters made up for it with lots of 3/8" and 1/2" reduced targets. The scores reflect the tough course. Ronnie Easton was the high PCP shooter giving Alan a rare defeat. Jeff Carmello was out for blood and wasn't going to let me beat him in the piston class. He held on through the standing and kneeling lanes at which point we were even. Jeff pulled away quickly after that. I made a couple of mistakes and was having trouble with the small/close targets (I need to redo my close dope again).

Our next scheduled Field Target match is January 18, 2015. In 2015, we plan on starting up airgun silhouette matches that will be shot alongside the rimfire matches. The silhouette matches will be held on the first Sunday of each month. The Field Target matches will still be on the 3rd Sunday of each month as scheduled. The 2015 match schedule will be posted soon.
